| Subject: Homefront 2 Release 'Unaffected' By THQ Troubles - Crytek Sun Jun 24, 2012 10:32 pm | |
| Homefront 2 will survive the slew of resignations and reshuffling over at publisher THQ, Crytek has confirmed. Find out the status of the game right here.
Homefront 2 development will continue as planned at Crytek UK, and wills survive the current staffing and financial woes currently being felt by publisher THQ, Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli has revealed.
Speaking with CVG, Yerli confirmed that Homefront 2 will be unaffected by the troubles, "There's been no tangible change whatsoever. There have been a few meetings and the introduction of people and those meetings are always very transparent."
"To be fair, the way we're developing Homefront 2 is very isolated anyway," Yerli continued, "We're treating it as our own new IP and at the same time THQ is respecting us and saying, 'you guys know what you're doing' and telling us the story they'd like to have, which we're collaborating creatively on."
Powered by CryEngine 3, Homefront 2 is slated for a financial year 2014 release, putting it firmly in the frame for PC, PS4 and Xbox 720, but neither THQ or Crytek has confirmed which console formats it has in mind.
We'll have more on Homefront 2 as it happens.
