| With Gears of War: Judgment, Epic Games and People Can Fly are preparing to see out this generation with one last title. But were they tempted to hold it back for next-gen?
Apparently not. Speaking to X360A at E3 this year, Epic Design Director Cliff Bleszinki and People Can Fly Creative Director Adrian Chmielarz said that was never part of the plan.
"We just have a window here where we could put something great out. We may have other things for UE4 that will be announced later," said Bleszinski.
Chmielarz added, "The way it happened was basically that… when you play someone else’s game you always appreciate things, but also have your own ideas, like, 'I would do this differently.'
"Then one day we got this call, 'Hey, remember when you talked about your ideas and what you’d do differently to Gears, you want to try it?' Of course, our love for Gears is pure. We loved this game before we have the slightest idea that one day we’d be working on it, so we enjoyed this very much."
Gears of War: Judgment is out in 2013.
