| Subject: Battlefield 3 Premium Has Over 800,000 Subscribers Says EA Mon Jul 02, 2012 9:06 am | |
| EA has confirmed that its Battlefield 3 Premium service has been a success, with EA Games' Patrick Soderlund revealing to USA Today that the paid service has had over 800,000 people signing up within its first two weeks since release. By comparison, Call of Duty reached 2 million paying members within six months.
"We are very pleased with the performance so far," said Soderlund. "We’re actually only two weeks into it, so it’s a little early to tell how this is going to pay off. It certainly it looks very promising right now."
Battlefield 3 Premium costs 4000 Microsoft Points, the equivalent of about $50 and gives players access to around $75 worth of content. And thanks to the success of Battlefield Premium, Soderlund declared that EA is looking at implementing a similar premium service into future releases, an idea also supported by remarks from EA boss Frank Gibeau.
