Ooh, look. Overkill Entertainment has announced that it’s working on an “in-depth collaboration” with Valve involving Payday: The Heist and Left 4 Dead.
Speaking on Overkill’s website, studio game director Ulf Andersson said, “As perceptive gamers will have noticed, several hints have recently been dropped into Payday The Heist, which has led to various rumors.”
“We are excited to be able to confirm that an in-depth collaboration between Overkill and Valve is currently in production.
“We are working on a very cool blend of PAYDAY and Left 4 Dead. I am sure it is so exciting that it will have some players check into the hospital before we are done.”
Interesting, huh? Payday: The Heist is a co-op shooter in which you have to pull off various daring robberies and thefts. It was decent enough, but didn’t quite live up to its potential. A little Valve fairy dust may just do the trick.
No further details, nor platforms, have been announced for the project. Payday: The Heist is a PSN and PC exclusive. We’d be surprised if the collaboration didn’t make it to Xbox 360 though. We’ll keep you posted.
