Gears Of War, Crysis, Far Cry, Assassin's Creed Medal Of Honor, Golden Eye, Killzone 2, and GTA 4 devs cooking up a crowdfunded AAA FPS.

Police Warfare is the next big Kickstarter project sure to turn heads, with the developers pitching the game as "like Battlefield and [Michael Mann movie] Heat had a bit too much to drink and spent a long, passionate night of romance together."

Police Warfare aims to spin a new take on the heist genre, combining inspirations such as Battlefield 3, Grant Theft Auto and Battlefield 1943.

The game is described as "a multiplayer first person shooter set in the world of armed robbery and law enforcement. Players will go toe-to-toe as either a member of the Los Angeles Police SWAT team, or the opposite side of the law, robbing banks as an armed gunman."

Expect features such as chopper drop-ins, a shoot-while-rappelling system and outlandish weapons like tasers, tear gas, taser mines, "heavily armed bomb squad robots, rigging vehicles with car bombs and an arsenal of sticky bombs and claymores."

Elastic Games is made up of developers that have previously worked on Gears Of War, Crysis, Far Cry 3, Assassin's Creed 2, Medal Of Honor: Airborne, Goldeneye, Killzone 2, and GTA 4.

"There are a lot of shooters out there focusing on modern military conflicts and we want to bring things in a new direction, something fresh and different, draw the focus of a conflict closer to home with a different type of enemy," the team wrote of Police Warfare, which is planned as a digital download.

"Our focus is crafting a big experience in a small package, a bite-sized AAA if you will. Something that you can pick up and play for just a few minutes and have the same great experience as if you're sinking hundreds of hours into it."

I am guessing that it will get life even if it doesn't get the amount it needs. It may take longer for a release.

Lets hope so, I'm liking the sound of this.

Sounds kinda cool....they'll push anything thru if they think it will make them money....

$310,416 in 31 days! Sounds highly unlikely but it does sound great. How are they raising the money is there a donate site for it?

I don't think it will make it either. Not sure if they are trying anything but word of mouth at this point. You do get things for your cash.
