Ubisoft Annecy has been revealed as the studio behind Assassin's Creed III's multiplayer component.

An update on designer Tim Browne's Twitter and LinkedIn profiles notes that he is Lead Game Designer on Assassin's Creed III multiplayer, specifically adding that he'll be working with Ubisoft Annecy.

Ubisoft's Annecy studio is known as the multiplayer developer for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory in addition to assisting with the multiplayer in Assassin's Creed: Revelations. Browne, meanwhile, previously worked for Codemasters, serving as a designer on Operation Flashpoint: Red River and Dragon Rising.



Little is known about the multiplayer for Assassin's Creed III. Previously, a product listing on xbox.com hinted that the game will feature online co-op. The same listing also confirmed 2-8 player online multiplayer, though no additional details were provided.

Assassin's Creed III is set to launch on October 30th on Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3. A Wii U release has also been confirmed, though that version's release date is currently unknown. Be sure to see our Assassin's Creed III wiki for all the details we know so far.

Hopefully they will do splitscreen co-op, either that or I'll hopefully be able to do co-op, me and Huw seem to do alright when we do co-op so fingers cross works for this and we'll be sorted Its all good, ways around everything. lol

brotherhood was the most enfuriating but addictive online multiplayer i have ever experienced. loved it :p
