As most of us have heard GAME and Gamestation didn't stoke Mass Effect 3 along with a few other bit title releases lately, they have now been given 2 weeks to sort them selves out or they will have to go in to adminastration (sorry if spelt wrong) but there are rumour that Gamestop (an American company) are interested in making a deal with them to buy them out, but what will this do to the high street shoping?

It was in the SUN today that Gamestop are the main contenders for a buy out.

I was hoping they would sell of all there stock for 90% discount lol

Yeah I do 99% of my game shopping at GAME. Would be sadly missed if they go, I'm hoping gamestop buy them out as they have some very nice preorder bonuses.

I shop at gamestop (USA) nice gaming store get a membership with them if they offer it in the UK the member ship will get ya discounts on used and new games and there preorders rock i've never had a problem with them yet that's my info if u guys get a gamestop

Nice one, I've only ever heard good things about Gamestop so I really hope they do buy them out and turn GAME and gamestation shops to Gamestop.

They should close down all the GameStations and turn all the GAME stores into Gamestop. Also they need to sell their games at the prices they advertise on their website.

Sorry for my double posts thoughout this topic, but fine its easier then editing post and people not realising there has been new news.

That is prob what will happen if Gamestop buy them out, because people have lost faith is the "GAME" and "Gamestation" logo's and brand of shop. things need to change and re-inventing yourself is the best way forward, just hope they also learn from their mistakes.

New staff throughout wouldn't hurt. Some are ok but most are miserable bastards. lol

Speaking of game I went there after work on Friday to get Dead Island and they didn't have it in! Not even pre-owned, so I went to Tesco and yep they had it.

I saw today gamestation was offering 35£ trade in for mass effect 3 with a poster saying we won't be beaten on trade on for this game, i thought yeah coz that's the only way you'll be able to stock it ;-) lol

Damn I wish I'd bought shares....they were only a penny each a couple of weeks ago.

the game near me is crap you cant get anything it has hardly any stock I went into gamestation today which is usually poping with different games and shelves were empty.. I endedup buying Halo CE from HMV.. maybe things arent going well for either of them because theres another GAME store in my city who dont appear to be doing too well either.

iv got news on the situation. GAME IS CLOSING DOWN THEY HAVE TO SELL THE SHARES TO PAY THE STAFF so this means a massive clear out asap so cheap games galore, and this is from a close friend who is a manager in my towns local GAME store

It might not be the end of the stores though. I can see this going the same way as Hawkins Bizzare where they go bankrupt, close down and re-open under a slightly different name.
