Sounds interestingIn a recent interview, Zynga CEO Mark Pincus casually mentioned Microsoft's console while discussing the synchronization of Zynga games across multiple devices.
"Right now we are building back-end technology, so that your game state can be saved and served up in difference screens and devices," Pincus said. "The interaction cues will take from the different devices. In other words, you can play a game on a computer and call it up on Xbox and you resume from the point you left off, except the game play will now be customized for the Xbox controller."
While Zynga games have appeared on wireless devices and PCs, an appearance on Xbox would mark the first time the company expanded to consoles. This is also fitting with Microsoft's strategy of new content collaborations announced during CES. Zynga itself has been exploring new partnerships as it expands the new Zynga platform.
Zynga and Microsoft haven't confirmed anything yet, but it's certainly an interesting possibility. We've reached out to both companies for clarification.
